LFW: The Sustainable Designers To Know

During London Fashion Week ShopStyle teamed up with style influencer and photographer Rosie Butcher for an exclusive tour around this year’s sustainability hub. Within the hub we were able to meet exciting sustainable designers, who use innovative materials and methods to consciously create their garments.

Stay Wild Swim

Stay Wild Swim garnered a lot of attention within the hub for their garments made from regenerated ocean plastic. Created by influencers and ocean enthusiasts Natalie Glaze and Zanna van Dijk; their collections

seek to ‘give back to the ocean’ and fight the marine plastic problem facing

our oceans.

Erika Maish

Experimental materials are at the heart of Erika Maish’s designs – with over 70,000 recycled can lid incorporated into her collection. She challenges assumptions about what clothing can be made from, whilst simultaneously reducing waste and creating a truly unique aesthetic; much of which has been influenced by her early travels throughout the American South West.

Adam Jones

Another collection we spotted utilising unconventional materials was Adam Jones; a Welsh born designer that moved to London to create a collection considered to a ‘British take on the Wabi-Sabi aesthetic. His classic garments and simple silhouettes are reinterpreted in upcycled fabrics reminiscent of punk, using beer mats, vintage tea towels and blankets.
