European oak and bubinga wood designer side table. Make a striking sculptural style statement with the Max McCance Sylvan Table. Based in rural Fife, furniture maker and designer Max McCance has taken inspiration from the beautiful mixed woodlands near his home in this bespoke Scottish furniture design. After walking through a forest which had been clear-felled, Max noticed the beauty of the semi-circular pieces of tree trunks which had been created during the felling process. Offering an abstract representation of a forest, the legs of this sculptural European oak table form an arrangement of wood struts, leaning at different angles. Wedged sections of bubinga wood, representing the wedge shapes Max found on the forest floor, then slot into recessed grooves in the table legs to create a dynamic contrast. Uniting unique and highly skilled woodworking techniques with the raw elegance of oak wood, the sculptural angular base gives this designer side table an impressive architectural presence which is ideal for adding depth in minimalist design schemes. Please note: Due to the naturally occurring grain of oak and the handmade production, each side table is utterly unique with no two exactly the same. Handmade in Scotland, exclusively for Houseology. Approximate net product weight: 30kg
