Helsinki-based brand Mainio have teamed up with fellow Finns, Pure Waste, to create these wide-legged sweatpants in grey marl with elasticated waist, made from 100% recycled fabrics. Pure Waste promises to use only materials that are bound for the bin and the fabrics are made without dyeing and without using any fresh cotton. This 100 % recycled material is 60 % made of pre-consumer cotton jersey waste clips from clothing industry and 40 % made of recycled polyester from PET bottles. The jersey waste clips are sorted by colour and quality, and the color of the clips gives the color to the final product.
