The Gola brand was launched in May 22nd 1905 in Leicester. No one is entirely sure how the name came about but it is understood that the word Gola is an anagram of the word Goal which might go someway to explaining the company's long running association with Football. Gola's first ad campaign for football boots was launched in the mid 30s with the slogan "Gola mens Goals". Gola did its bit for Britain by making boots for the army during World War II. In the early 2000's Gola relaunched themselves as a 'retro' sports fashion brand.
