This Kenta bench is handcrafted from solid planks of European oak that are carefully smoked for a rich, dark colour. Each piece is then hand finished with natural oils and waxes to protect the wood and bring out the natural beauty of the grain. Imperfections such as knots, burls, whorls and dings add to the character of the piece.

The bench design offers a concave surface which makes it a comfortable seat. As with the dining table it has a textured edge which is exclusive to the Lombok design. This edge will never match the colour of the table, this is what makes it so intrinsically unique to our design. The outer layers of a tree do not contain the same level of pigments as the inner layers, as such during the smoking process the tannin develops at different rates which results in a beautifully unique finish that changes with every bench. The legs undergo the same process, but may appear darker due to their structure.
