The prototype is then sent to a workshop in Peru, where skilled artisans produce each piece in high-fired stoneware.
Artfully Irreverent. Named for the temperature at which gold melts, our porcelain dinnerware is splattered with real gold. Chic and classique. The generous teapot holds at least four cups of tea. The 1948° serving pieces are the perfect balance of timeless and today, formal and fresh, uptown and downtown. Each piece is dishwasher safe up to 500 washes, so it's formal enough for a holiday table but hardworking for every day. 9.5" W, 5.5" D, 6.25" H Porcelain with hand-applied gold details Imported Dishwasher safe, 500 washes; click here for detailed care instructions
Porcelain Reverie. Inspired by Dora Maar, the French photographer, poet, and painter best known for being a lover and muse of Pablo Picasso. With a coterie worth poring over, our Dora Maar Teapot serves a surrealist spot of tea for four. Jonathan throws the models for the Muse vessels and then substitutes our signature geometric relief patterns with body parts—faces, breasts, lips—to create a surreal style. Each piece is made from unglazed matte porcelain to accentuate the forms and is inspired by our favorite artists' muses. Neo Neoclassical. One day while JA was pondering a Muse Vase he realized that so many of our objets, though completely hand-crafted, don't always look it. JA has always said that when design is at its best it looks uncovered rather than created, as if it always existed in the universe and the designer's role was merely to discover it. With the Naiveté Tea Set he wanted to do just the opposite—make the artist's hand present. With a nod to iconic Wedgewood Jasperware, our Naiveté Teapot started as a pinch pot that was then cast in colored porcelain and adorned with hand-carved porcelain cameos and flourishes. Unschooled in appearance but expertly functional, our Naiveté Tea Set pours beautifully and adds a sassy surprise to your tea ceremony. 9.5" W, 6" D, 6.75" H Colored porcelain with clear glazed interior and porcelain accents; food safe Hand wash only; click here for detailed care instructions
