As owner of Rachel Zabar Vintage, she travels the globe in search of one-of-a-kind treasures. “It’s the thrill of the hunt for something unique, different, and iconoclastic that sends me on,” she says. The Brown graduate who worked at the Yves Saint Laurent Musee Saint Laurent in Paris is something of a design historian as well: “Every piece has a story and a context and I want to know what it is. I research obsessively and share what I learn with my customers. After all, when you are in love with something, don’t you want to know all you can about the object of your affection?” Based in Los Angeles, Zabar is a native New Yorker.
