Oliver Peoples Sir O'Malley Sun Vintage Dark Tortoise Brown with Champagne Photochromic Glass Limited EditionThe Finley and O'Malley have reached iconic status. In the Sir Sun series they receive nothing less than an Oliver Peoples knighthood. An exclusive keyhole shaped filigree plaque is wrapped around the temples. In special vintage colours it's completely unique. Specially produced tortoiseshell acetates will only be found in this collection too.According to Oliver Peoples founder Larry Leight, people became addicted to the O’Malley. He took it out of production before it lost its exclusivity. The iconic shape is only ever available from the brand in limited edition runs since its eighties debut. The frame was inspired by former LA Dodgers owner Peter O’Malley. P3 shaped (nearly round) lenses are topped by an unmistakable keyhole bridge. In this edition the double hinge pins (which are fully functioning- Oliver Peoples don’t use adhesive) are matched at the temples by the Sir Series plaque.A core wire detail is visible featuring more intricate detail. The elusive Oliver Peoples symbolic logo is repeated along its length. Over the interiors is doesn’t read handmade in Italy. But hand crafted; there’s an important distinction. The words ‘Limited Edition’ are also printed over the interiors.
