AM01 M With meticulous attention to the intricacies of the shape and materials used to make the original, Alessi has reproduced in miniature form the ''Anna G.'' Corkscrew, as designed by Alessandro Mendini. Known for his particular interest in neo-modern and contemporary design, Alessandro Mendini has amassed much recognition as a designer, architect and image consultant for many corporations creating many objects, furniture and interior installations. Mendini describes his mission as one to communicate through my objects and work in general, trying to say things that encourage people to deepen meditation and spirituality. As Functioal as it was eye-catching, the corkscrew makes it a breeze to open your favorite bottle of port, while you turn heads in style. Inspired by Mendini's then girlfriend, the corkscrew, which was reissued in chrome-plated zamak in 2003, has been a fantastic success since its launch in 1994. Alessi has unveiled a series of miniatures comprising a number of classics from the last sixty years of their production. This collection includes iconic designs such as the Bombé Teapot by Carlo Alessi (1945) and the ''Mami'' Saucepan by Stefano Giovannoni (1999).
